Buildwise

Buildwise is a non-profit organisation active in the construction sector in Belgium. It plays a key role in innovation and supporting stakeholders in the sector, by promoting the modernisation of practices and tools.

In a context of digital transformation, the organisation sought to strengthen collaboration between its teams and to structure its project management methods.

The challenge

The factory operated with heterogeneous tools, mixing Excel and local software, with little integration into the distribution system. This lack of structuring limited visibility, complicated operations, and hindered alignment with the group's standards. The challenge was to digitise, centralise, and harmonise practices.

The solution implemented

Buildwise chose to deploy Odoo as a centralised project management platform, relying on a solution already used by the finance teams. The project took place over approximately 9 months, including a thorough analysis phase followed by a gradual deployment. The objective was to centralise information, unify working methods, and provide a common platform for all teams..

A particular focus was placed on the complete migration of the data history to ensure business continuity. The project also incorporated a strong change management dimension to support over 300 users in adopting the new tools and processes.

Manufacturing

Real-time production management to optimise resources, control deadlines, and improve overall performance.

Project

Centralised project management to plan, track progress, and improve coordination between teams.

Accounting

Reliable financial management with integrated accounting, providing real-time visibility into performance and budgets.

The results and benefits

The implementation of this centralised platform has enabled the harmonisation of project management practices across the organisation. Teams now have a common environment, promoting collaboration and better coordination between the different departments.

The centralisation of data has strengthened the reliability of information and improved visibility on the progress of projects. Teams are becoming more efficient, with standardised and better-controlled processes, while reducing the risks associated with fragmented tools.

Finally, this transformation has facilitated the alignment of teams around common practices and supported a wide adoption of the new tools. Buildwise now benefits from a solid foundation to support its growth and continue the digitalisation of its activities.
